What is HOD?
The House of Delegates (HOD) is the overall governing body of the LMSA-NE organization. It has the ultimate authority and responsibility to govern the organization, such as voting on candidates for the executive council and on amendments to the constitution. HOD meets twice a year; once in the Fall and again in the Spring.

The fall House of Delegates meeting will occur Saturday, September 10th as part of our annual regional conference.

This year’s theme, Tu Voz es Tu Poder, aims to equip our members with the tools to craft and uplift their voices within advocacy, academia, and digital media to further their professional, personal, community, and organizational goals.

- Maximizing las sociales workshop & networking event
- Presentation on utility of social media: professional networking, influencing, social justice movements, education
- Tips on networking–preface for how to network at the regional conference
- Encouraging students to make professional twitter’s if they do not have
- “Speed dating” event to promote interregional networking between individual members
- Alza tu voz–writing and publishing at the intersections of medicine
- Utility of writing on the intersections
- Workshop on defining a topic to write for a perspectives, opinion, or piece outside of typical academic writing
- Identifying mentors, targeting a journal
- How to write and present a proposal – someone from NE board to lead
- Tailor proposals for Spring HOD
- Community Health Challenge- Service/Policy Chair event
- Educating ourselves and others on the issues facing our local communities and highlighting their on-the-ground efforts.
- Schools will break out into groups based on their geographic region, identify the needs/ disparities faced by their local communities & the organizations in the community addressing these.
- At the end of the session, the groups will have to submit some kind of illustration/brochure with findings found for us to post on our website, newsletter, and Instagram to share with all chapters

- Train: New Haven Station, Metro North - approximately a 20 min drive from the campus.
- Fly: Hartford Airport, Bradley Airport - nearest airport approximately a 45 min drive from the campus.
- LGA closest major airport - 75 miles , Approximately a 1 hour and a half drive from the campus.
From I-91
- Take I-91 North to Exit 12 (Washington Avenue).
- Turn right onto Route 5/Washington Avenue, and follow for 1.5 miles.
- Turn right onto Bradley Street. Continue straight through the Bassett Road intersection.
- The entrance to campus is directly ahead.
From I-95
- Take I-95 to I-91 North.
- Drive 8.6 miles to Exit 12 (Washington Avenue).
- Turn right onto Route 5/Washington Avenue, and follow for 1.5 miles.
- Turn right onto Bradley Street.
- Continue straight through the Bassett Road intersection.
