Fall Scholarships

Latino Medical Student Association Fall Scholarships for the 2026-2027 Year

These awards are open to our LMSA Northeast chapters and their members. Recipients will be awarded at our Fall HOD on October 31st, 2026 at Tufts University School of Medicine.

  • LMSA-NE Essay Scholarship Award

    • Deadline: October 9th, 2026 at 11:59pm EST

    • Award amount: $1000

    • This scholarship was established to honor the humanitarian aspect of medicine. The winner will be presented with a Certificate of Achievement, have their work published on our website and shared through our social media platforms, as well as receive a $1000 scholarship at the LMSA-NE Fall House of Delegates Meeting.

  • R. Jaime H. Rivera Velez Award for Outstanding Community Service​

    • Deadline: October 9th, 2026 at 11:59pm EST

    • Award amount: $1000

    • This award recognizes and rewards active LMSA-NE members for their participation in furthering the goals of the organization and their dedication to serving the Latino community. The winner will be presented with a Certificate of Achievement and a scholarship of $1000 at the LMSA-NE Fall House of Delegates Meeting.

  • Women's Health Advocacy Scholarship​

    • Deadline: October 9th, 2026 at 11:59pm EST

    • Award amount: $1000

    • In honor of Dr. Jack Ludmir’s dedication to serving and advocating for women’s rights, this award recognizes efforts aimed at improving women’s healthcare. This includes, but is not limited to, advocacy, research, education, and community service. The winner will be presented with a Certificate of Achievement and a scholarship of $1000 at the LMSA-NE Fall House of Delegates Meeting.

  • Residency Application Award​

    • Deadline: October 9th, 2026 at 11:59pm EST

    • Award amount: $1000

    • This scholarship was established to support 4th-year medical students in paying for their residency applications. The winner will be presented with a Certificate of Achievement and a $1000 scholarship at the LMSA-NE Fall House of Delegates Meeting.

  • Medical Licensing Support Award​

    • Deadline: October 9th, 2026 at 11:59pm EST

    • Award amount: Cost of a licensing exam (NBME/COMLEX).

    • This scholarship was established to financially support medical students in paying for their medical licensing exams (e.g., USMLE Step 1/2, COMLEX Level 1/2, etc.). The winner will be presented with a Certificate of Achievement and a scholarship covering the full cost of one licensing exam at the LMSA-NE Fall House of Delegates Meeting.
