The "Adopt a Chapter" program is intended to bridge LMSA+ chapters with LMSA Medical Chapters in our region. There are are many LMSA+ chapters in our region that are unaffiliated with a medical school and many LMSA chapters looking for an opportunity to mentor the next generation of physicians. We hope this opportunity will help facilitate that process!
Any established LMSA-Northeast (LMSA-NE) chapter is eligible to adopt a LMSA+ chapter. To become a host chapter, the following google form must be completed in its entirety. Once completed the LMSA-NE CDO and LMSA Plus Chairs will then match the LMSA Chapter with a nearby LMSA+ chapter requesting to be adopted.

Guidelines for becoming a Parent/Adopted Chapter
- LMSA and LMSA+ chapter will join a transition meeting hosted by LMSA-NE CDO and LMSA NE Plus Development Chair to facilitate the joining of both chapters (this will be virtual)
- A minimum of two collaborated events per year must be held between the LMSA chapter and the LMSA+ chapter (can be in-person or virtual)
- The LMSA and LMSA+ chapters will remain as two separate organizations, as such, members from one chapter will not be allowed to fulfill the requirements stated in the LMSA NE Bylaws to remain on active status (ex. representation at HOD meetings and minimal 1 national dues-paying member)
